Why should Autism not consume Gluten? - Healthy Friend, you know what? According to data from  WHO , autism occurs in 1 in 160 children worldwide, you know! This symptom is also referred to as autism spectrum disorder  (ASD), because the symptoms and severity vary in each sufferer.

It is very important for you to be aware of symptoms as early as possible. This is related to the handling method that will be applied for people with autism. In addition, it is also necessary to know the food menu provided for them. Usually they are not  advised to  consume foods that contain gluten or protein that is embedded in wheat. I wonder why? Come, see the explanation here!

Some nutrients that need attention
Persons with autism have a different world from others, including the food consumed. They must be willing not to consume two types of protein, such as  gluten (protein from wheat) and casein (protein from milk). They also have to go on a diet called the GF-CF ( Gluten-free and Casein-free ) Diet . This diet, is believed to support the improvement of digestive disorders and reduce the symptoms or behavior of autism.

This is the reason!
People with autism have small holes in the  intestinal mucosa  (mucus), so they have difficulty  digesting casein and gluten . Both of these nutrients must be changed to a smaller size so they can be absorbed by the body. If it can't be changed or the changes aren't perfect, the body won't be able to absorb this nutrient.

Foods that have not been properly digested will slip through the mucous pits . Outside the intestinal wall, antibody-making cells (the body's immune system) will catch a 'signal' that foods that contain these nutrients are foreign substances. Well, this is what will cause people with autism to be allergic to food.

Case in point, if people with autism consume chocolate and have not been properly digested, chocolate will be considered an 'enemy' by antibody cells so that antibodies to chocolate are formed. As a result, their bodies become allergic to chocolate. This can also happen to other food ingredients.

What if both of these nutrients are absorbed?
In the digestive system, the intestine can be penetrated by water, so that protein can be absorbed into the body and carried through the bloodstream to the brain. In the brain, these two nutrients, will unite with opioid nerve cells  (which have opiate properties).

Both of these nutrients, will be converted into substances that have effects such as morphine. This substance will affect a person's behavior, perception and response to their environment. Reducing the consumption of gluten and casein can help reduce unwanted behavior.

Well, Healthy Friend! That's some information about food that should be avoided by people with autism. Come on, care more about those with autism! Without having to look negatively on them, because we have the same rights. Let's share this information with the people closest to you and don't forget to comment!
